Brainz and beer

Just turn on your TV these days and zombies are everywhere -- quick, turn it off, they must be attracted to the light and noise! Finally learn how to escape their frenzied grasps, at Run For Your Lives.

Just about to close up registration, RFYL is a first-of-its-kind zombie 5k, challenging racers to clear daunting obstacles while avoiding the desperate clutches of people bored enough to dress up as zombies and stand around in Darlington, MD!! the living dead!

Pre-race, you'll be given a "health belt" with three flags, which the "zombies" (actually volunteers schooled at their "Zombie Training Facility") will try to snatch throughout the course (though no other physical contact is allowed); make it through with some health left, and you'll be awarded a survival medal, while TBD prizes will be given to the winners in different "competitive age divisions" for both men and women, though can you really call the Women's 40+ competitive? ...Considering they can beat you, yes.

Amongst the infected, you'll have to battle 12 obstacles, like a series of fences to climb in Over-Unders, a “sewage system” filled w/ mud and trash in The Terrible Tubes, and The Uphill Climb, heart-stoppingly described by them as..."just a hill".

While not everyone can be eligible for an award, everyone can stick around for the post-race Apocalypse Party, which'll have live entertainment, food, and even the promise of “celebrities” -- coincidentally, the other type of people who'll show up anywhere where there's TV.
