Meet the man who invented console gaming


Every 14 year old who's currently at the bottom of a COD hole on XBOX Live in some way owes his life (or lack thereof) to Ralph Baer, the inventor of the The Magnavox Oddysey, aka: the first game console ever. Admittedly the Oddysey wouldn't be considered bleeding edge by today's standards, hell, it might not even qualify as a "game" by today's standards, but it still got the ball rolling on what would become a multibillion dollar entertainment industry, and our pals over at ArsTechnica were lucky enough to sit down with the bespectacled nonagenarian just the other day.
