This 'artisanal motorcycle' is everything good about Italian design

Building motorcycles piece-by-piece was once a weekend hobby of handymen simply working away in their garages. Now, Venier Customs has upgraded this quaint idea to our 21st Century mentality. The Italy-based company is in the business of producing "artisanal motorcycles".Not that there’s anything wrong with that. The new Tractor V75, for example, outsources each individual part from small Italian shops, ensuring that every seat cushion, cover, siding, fender and headlamp is completely handmade.

The look of the Tractor V75 is based on a Moto Guzzi NTX bike from the nineties, which took its extra-large frame from police cruisers that patrolled Italian streets. Just because the parts are imbued with the same artisanal beauty as, say, a Fendi bag, that doesn’t mean the bike’s size won’t intimidate little kids on puny scooters.

If a handmade enormous police-style motorcycle sounds up your alley, contact Venier Customs founder Stefano Venier, and brace yourself for a price quote. Artisanal ain't cheap.
