F***ing Hipsters in Philadelphia

New York gets all the love, but in so many ways, Philly's her equal, with world-class restaurants, world-class sports teams, world-class parks, and -- most important of all -- world-class preening assmunches. Proving that final point, F***ing Hipsters in Philadelphia. A just-launched Philly take on the NYC Tumblr sensation, FhiP provides user-submitted, unassailable photographic evidence that hipsters in the 215 are more than capable of competing with Gotham's when it comes to ironic haircuts, garments, and overall WTF-ness. The madness starts with house parties, like a rare goth-hipster with bleach-blonde/pink polka-dotted hair and penciled brows above the caption, "oh, my eyebrows? yeah, i left that sh*t at home.", and a stone-faced dude rocking both beard and faux-hawk, a monstrous hipster hybrid that can only be stopped by a rubber-suited Kate Beckinsale. Then there are the club shots (Barbary/Medusa in the house), like a Pabst-swilling, Cosby-sweatered guy next to a blonde with whiskers drawn on her face ("facepaint is the new black, girlfriend") and some gent rocking a fedora and a hideously patterned suit resembling old man sleepwear, captioned "Pajamas, man. I just picked up this sh*t at Circle Thrift to show you how thrifty I am." (so, thrift is the new black? Girlfriend?). FhiP's hitting the Twitterverse next week, but despite that ambitious expansion, the site proprietor's well aware of the irony inherent in ridiculing irony: "Is making fun of hipsters the new hip? Maybe.", but that's another Tumblr altogether.
