While everyone has fond memories of their time in college, most people never get the chance to go back for much more than a football game, to see a sibling graduate, or for a court date after lighting cars on fire following that particularly rowdy...graduation. Now letting you back into at least one school whenever you want, Landmark Americana.
Just opened on the ground floor of Drexel's Rec Center (yay!), Landmark's a 200-seat upscale sports bar/lounge where everyone's welcome to enjoy campus hang time at a glass-topped bar, a multi-sectioned dining area with plush benches & banquettes among dark wood trim, a communal booth nook beneath flatscreens, or a row of seating along a window offering a view of Market Street (yay again!). Food's a range of finger eats, burgers, and 'wiches, plus a few curveballs like flash-fried spicy tuna egg rolls, prime rib cheesesteaks & paninis, and an Ahi burger BLT, as well as entrees divided between land stuff like build-your-own carne asada fajitas and Sea dishes like lobster ravioli and maple-syrup-glazed Atlantic salmon that's spice-rubbed, hopefully not by Scary. Drinkwise, Landmark's barkeeps pour a hearty helping of specialty cocktails like the Bacardi/Parrot Bay/Licor 43/pineapple Bahamian, while a dozen taps pour everything from Smithwick's to Chimay Triple, and a 20+ bottle list reps local crafts like Stoudts Fat Dog Stout and Troegs DreamWeaver, which believes it can get you through the night, and oh, it can.
Along with offering an abridged late night menu of apps, sandwiches & desserts, Landmark's putting the finishing touches on an outdoor corner seating area with a dedicated bar and fire pits, which're a great place to park your Civic after someone graduates Phi Beta Kappa.
