Blinker
The Blinker first appeared in Patrick Gavin Duffy’s 1934 book The Official Mixer’s Manual, but fell out of fashion over the course of the following decades. It wasn’t resurrected until Ted “Dr. Cocktail” Haigh printed an updated version of the recipe in his 2009 book Vintage Spirits and Forgotten Cocktails. His edit was small but mighty—instead of using the originally-called-for grenadine, Haigh suggests mixing the drink with raspberry syrup instead. We support the swap, but also think the original version of the cocktail would be just as great with our homemade hibiscus grenadine.
