RECIPE

Cameron’s Kick

Patrick Spears / Supercall

No one knows who Cameron was or why he or she needed a kick, but we’re sure glad someone stepped in and gave them one in the form of this supremely odd but delicious cocktail. A strange mix of scotch, Irish whiskey, orgeat and lemon juice, the drink originally appeared in print in Harry MacElhorn’s Harry’s ABC of Mixing Cocktails in 1922. It’s at once smoky, dry, nutty and tart. Try it once, for curiosity’s sake if nothing else.
