Cucumber Margarita

Marisa Chafetz/Supercall

A classic Margarita on the rocks, made with the freshest lime juice, sweet agave nectar and high quality blanco tequila, is sure to quench your thirst on a hot summer day. But if it’s a real scorcher and you need to call for backup to take things to the next level, look to this Cucumber Margarita instead. It’s the ultimate cool down for when a heat wave strikes. Notorious for being one of the most refreshing fruits (yes, it’s a fruit) on earth, cucumber gives the cocktail a hydrating, crisp vegetal flavor, which highlights the natural, bracing agave notes of blanco tequila. It instantly transforms the Margarita into a garden-fresh, spa day-ready treat, and it’s incredibly easy to make. Simply muddle fresh cucumber slices into the standard Margarita, and you’ll enjoy an entirely new experience that’s perfect for spring and summertime drinking.

Mix It Up!

If you prefer things on the spicier side of life, you can also easily turn this recipe into a Spicy Cucumber Margarita. To create this riff within a riff, add one to two small slices of fresh jalapeño peppers to the shaker tin with the cucumber slices and agave, and muddle. Alternatively, you could use a spicy tequila such as Tanteo Jalapeño, which has a grassy, vegetal and very spicy flavor that pairs beautifully with fresh cucumber. Whichever version you choose, we guarantee the heat of the day will be no match for the Cucumber Margarita’s cooling powers.
