Instinct Yellow Pinap Juice

Who says Pinap Juice is just for Pokémon? We made our own Pinap Juice, inspired by Pokémon GO's Team Instinct, and you can too.

Team Instinct is the black sheep of the Pokémon GO teams. That’s not necessarily a bad thing; it just means that the select few who have joined team captain Spark’s movement are all the more committed to following their gut instinct. With Zapdos, the legendary bird of electricity, as their mascot, Team Instinct’s cocktail electrifies. Made with a base of gold rum, sweetened with pineapple juice, sharpened with chartreuse and garnished with a lightning bolt lemon peel, the Instinct Yellow is the perfect, zingy drink for those scarce intuitive individuals. If you really want to up the shock value of the drink, lightly rim the glass with crushed Warheads or Pop Rocks to deliver a surge of electricity with every sip.

Instinct Yellow Pinap Juice

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 oz Rum
  • .75 oz Pineapple Juice
  • .25 oz Chartreuse
  • .25 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 dash Orange Bitters
  • Lemon Peel (for garnish)
  • Crushed Warheads or Pop Rocks, for rim (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Step one

Prepare a highball glass by rimming it with crushed Warheads or Pop Rocks (wet the rim with lemon juice, then roll the edge around a small pile of crushed candy).

Step two

Carefully cut a swath of lemon zest with a knife and fashion it into a lightning bolt.

Step three

Pour the rum, pineapple juice, lemon juice, Chartreuse and bitters into a shaker with ice and shake.

Step four

Strain into a highball glass using a Hawthorne strainer and garnish with lemon peel lightning bolt.
