Green Jameson Jello Shot

Green colored drinks don’t have a wonderful history as they relate to St. Patrick’s Day. It’s mostly watered down green beer. But turning your drinks emerald for the holiday doesn’t have to produce subpar results. Green Jello Shots capture the spirit of the festivities without besmirching the good reputation of beer. And, since this is St. Patrick’s Day, what better spirit to use than Irish whiskey? We opted for Jameson here because it is hands down the most popular Irish whiskey in the country—Americans buy more Jameson than the next nine Irish whiskeys combined. But you should feel free to use your choice of Irish whiskey. We wanted to keep the taste bright and sweet, almost like a Rickey, so we added some lime juice into the mix along with the whiskey and some sugar. If sweet, tangy, wiggly whimsy isn’t your thing, these Irish whiskey cocktails are perfectly acceptable St. Patrick’s Day drinks. But for a truly great St. Paddy’s Day, you need these Jello Shots, which are a welcome change from the usual shots of Jamo you and your friends usually do come mid-March. Sláinte.

Mix It Up!

If you want something a little less sweet, you can cut the sugar out of the recipe. The gelatin will still set in the same way.
