Burnt Candied Orange Slices



  • Ten thick slices of orange (we prefer Satsumas)
  • 1 oz Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Smoked Salt


Step one

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step two

Add all ingredients together in a bowl and toss to incorporate.

Step three

Line a sheet pan with wax paper and spread the ingredients across the pan.

Step four

Bake until golden and soft, or until the sugar breaks down and coats the oranges.

Step five

Remove from the oven and turn the oven to Broil.

Step six

Broil the oranges until blackened all over.

Step seven

Remove from heat and cool before using.
