Strawberries make an especially good addition to whiskey cocktails like the Delorean Door, which is filled with fresh fruit in addition to this easy strawberry simple syrup.
- 1 Cup strawberry purée
- 1 Cup water
- 2 cups sugar
Combine fruit, water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.
Bring to a simmer, stirring to incorporate purée and sugar.
Remove from heat and let steep for 1-2 hours.
Strain and store syrup in the refrigerator until ready to use.
