The Michelada is hands down the world’s greatest beertail (sorry, Shandy). The savory, spritzy, spicy mix of beer, hot sauce, lime juice and any number of umami-packed ingredients evolves as you drink it, getting more and more potent as you near the bottom, where you finally top it off with a slug of beer. Plus, it’s a super easy drink to make at home, but it can be even easier―with popsicles. These Michelada popsicles go straight from your freezer into a pint of beer. As the frozen mix melts, the drink becomes more and more lively, and you become more and more refreshed.
Note: This recipe makes three 3.25-oz popsicles. Feel free to scale up or down as needed.
- 6 oz Clamato Juice
- 9 dashes Hot Sauce
- 3 oz Lime Juice
- 9 dashes Maggi
- Heavy pinch Tajín
Whisk together Clamato, hot sauce, lime juice, Maggi and Tajin.
Pour into popsicle molds. Freeze until completely solid.
To serve, rim a pint glass in Tajin and salt, fill with beer and top with a popsicle.
