Chai Whiskey Sour

Yield: 1 cocktail


  • 2 oz American whiskey
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • ¾ oz Chai Syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • Ice
  • Cinnamon stick, for garnish
  • Star anise, for garnish
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 chai tea bags
  • Granulated sugar


  • For the Chai syrup: bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Add tea bags and sugar and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and allow to simmer and thicken for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and allow syrup to chill entirely.
  • For the drink: add the whiskey, lemon juice, chai tea syrup, and egg white to a cocktail shaker and shake for a few seconds without ice. Add the ice to the shaker and continue shaking. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and star anise, if desired.
