Pink Lady
Don’t be taken in by the blush of this dainty gin cocktail’s color or its less-than-butch name. This variation on a Clover Club hides a secret ingredient that makes it kick harder than the average pink cocktail. Ted Haigh (aka Doctor Cocktail) once recommended changing the name of the cocktail from Pink Lady to the Secret Cocktail, a testament to the cognitive dissonance between this dry and bracing cocktail and its sugar-sweet name. We couldn’t care less, though. If people are too ashamed to order them, that just means more Pink Ladies for us.
