RECIPE

The Great Pumpkin Daiquiri

Matthew Kelly / Supercall

New Orleans holds a wealth of drinking inspiration, whether you look to its open container policy or award-winning bar programs. And while the city doesn’t experience too much variance when it comes to the seasons, the bars around town do their part with a slew of innovative cocktails to make it feel like it’s not 85 degrees outside come October. “Fall always makes me think of pumpkins, and New Orleans is a Daiquiri town,” says Bennie Johnson, bartender at Public Belt at Hilton New Orleans Riverside. His autumnal take on the classic includes plenty of sweet and spicy spirits, along with a nice helping of pumpkin purée for good measure. “I think the bite from the Gosling’s plays very well with the rich sweetness from the purée and the liqueurs,” he adds. “It’s fragrant and festive enough to serve all fall.”
