Roosevelt

Roosevelt cocktail with orange slices
Matthew Kelly/Supercall

After returning from a 15-month hunting expedition in British East Africa, former President Theodore Roosevelt was welcomed back to New York with this cocktail. Though the exact ingredients of the original recipe have been lost to time, the surviving sweet rum and vermouth libation is a great way to celebrate almost any occasion or run-of-the-mill Tuesday evening.
