Scofflaw

Patrick Spears / Supercall

This potent sour is a most unusual tipple. It appears to be the love child of a Daiquiri and a Manhattan, with a touch of grenadine thrown in for good measure. Created at the Paris cocktail stalwart Harry’s Bar in 1924, the cocktail’s name is a tip of the hat to the surreptitious stateside drinkers who survived Prohibition. When you can’t decide between a strong, stirred sipper or a bright, citrusy refresher, this cocktail is the happy-medium.
