Crock Pot Mulled Wine

Mulled wine is a no-brainer winter cocktail. The blend of dry red wine, citrus and spices is ideal holiday party fodder and an easy way to turn an okay bottle of wine and some common pantry spices into something amazing. This version is fortified with a little brandy to warm you deep down to the core.

Crock Pot Mulled Wine

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 whole cloves
  • .25 tsp black peppercorns
  • 2 star anise
  • lemon
  • orange
  • 1.5 bottles dry red wine
  • .75 Cup brandy
  • 1.5 cups water
  • .75 Cup sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • orange wheel

INSTRUCTIONS

Step one

Bundle cloves, peppercorns and star anise in cheesecloth and tie together.

Step two

Add all ingredients to a slow cooker.

Step three

Cover and cook on low for 2 to 3 hours.
