Megu “Frozen” Daiquiri

If the thought of dragging your blender out and dealing with the cleanup is preventing you from enjoying delicious frozen drinks, then we have just the cocktail for you. At New York’s upscale sushi den Megu, Noel Nepomuceno uses crushed ice to create a faux “frozen” Strawberry Daiquiri, no heavy machinery required. “This shaken frozen Daiquiri works because it’s classic and simple," Nepomuceno says. "By using fresh ingredients, you can create a fun and flavorful drink without the need for additional sweeteners. Muddling the ingredients takes a bit more time and effort, but it makes a huge difference in the taste.”

INGREDIENTS

  • .5 oz Lemon Juice
  • 3 Strawberries
  • 1 oz Triple Sec
  • 2 oz white rum
  • .25 Cup crushed ice

INSTRUCTIONS

Step one

Add strawberries to a cocktail shaker and muddle.

Step two

Add all remaining ingredients.

Step three

Shake hard. Pour into a coupe glass and serve.
