Contrary to popular opinion, white guys are good at a few things, all of which involve being made fun of. And squash. White dudes are awesome at squash. Proving they can also excel at one very specific basketball skill, The Kingsbury Factor.
From a dude who lives right next to SF's own bastion of white dudes playing basketball (The JCC), TKF is an absurdist NCAA-centric blog that ranks and intricately compiles the best American/Canadian-born white dudes under 6'4" according to their three-point shooting prowess, strength of schedule, and, of course, "how often said shooter applies the life lessons of former Iowa sharpshooter Chris Kingsbury to his own game" -- a difficult task, as not everyone's cut out to be vice president of a small Iowa bank. Some choice highlights:
Brendan McKillop (6-0, Davidson, Senior): "Not totally a great shooter, B Mac fills out the final spot essentially all based on the fact that Steph (Curry) might've touched him, and somehow transferred over his shooting prowess, like Rogue on The X-Men, or George Baruth in that Matt Christopher book The Kid Who Only Hit Homers."
Devon Beitzel (6-0, Northern Colorado, Senior): "Beitzel smartly snubbed Ivy League recruitment to attend Northern Colorado, just so he could tell people he plays ball at UNC. He also finished his HS career as a captain in Lafayette, CO, which is just one town over from a Buffalo Wild Wings, so expect the bulk of his games to go into sextuple overtime."
Tyrel Reed (6-3, Kansas, Senior): The son of a coach, TR already finished his coursework, and is only doing an internship during the season, presumably at a name pathologist, so he can figure out why his parents decided to name him "Tyrel".
The site's also got a detailed FAQ that references both The Human Stain & Eddie House, and features a surprisingly in-depth muckraking essay on former Kentucky sharpshooter/mustache aficionado Richie Farmer, whose last name is yet another job in which white dudes dominate squash.
