who rose from indie origins to become Hollywood's golden boys in the late '90s! out to put a new spin on online matchmaking, HAW is an activity-based dating site that offers up sweet date ideas and matches you with potential mates based on mutual interest in whatever activity is proposed, even if it involves proposing (creepy people need love too!). Entering date-dom is simple: after signing up, you'll help their algorithm by going thumbs up or down on 10 fictional dates (ranging from a guided microbrewery tour to not-the-best-date-ever), offering up your own awesome date idea, then setting up your profile with a photo and some basic getting-to-know-you details like age, height, occupation, and how often you exercise/drink/smoke, also known as Michael Phelps' Friday night itinerary. From there, you're free to browse through other users' date proposals until you find one that catches your eye (burritos in the Mission, sushi in Japantown, non-stereotypical foodstuffs in other neighborhoods, etc.) which you can then accept, "poke" the proposer with a coy "I'm intrigued" note, or propose a counter date (non-stereotypical foodstuffs...in Japantown!?!).
After that you'll get a fresh list of date proposals in your inbox every day (which'll be fine tuned the more you accept/decline), plus will have the option to forward dates you're not into to your friends -- a nice gesture, even if it does kind of come out of the Blue (Team).
