A rotating selection of delicious-ness, plus a gallery, in the Mission

Nature's full of charming symbioses, e.g., the remora keeps the shark lustrously clean and free of rotting bits, and in exchange, it doesn't eat him. Starting tomorrow, you can figuratively eat them both, at Stable

Housed in an overhauled barn complex that in the 1850s sheltered the mayor's horses, Stable's a raw-wood and metal-clad, Noah's-arc-looking eatery, supported by a commissary kitchen that fledgling caterers and bakers are free to occupy so long as they kick up to the owner whatever of their grub he wants to sell. These'll abet regular offerings like De La Paz coffee, granola/yogurt made on-site, and goodness like soups, salads, panini, and Latin/Mediterranean specials (tamales, quiches, and lasagnas, oh my...God you're getting fat). The first few installments of guest bonus'll consist of Batter Bakery's goods (specialty coffee cakes/muffins/shortbreads...), gelato from a big frozen storage bin out back, and hot Indian breads/desserts by Spice Vice, like the channel, but tasty not blurry

In addition to a 2nd floor eating zone, Stable's also got a rear gallery space (bedecked with rotating modern art installations), and an adjacent patio, both of which the owner will rent you for private parties -- in exchange for which you and your friends will go on a feeding frenzy, and eat him out of business.
