The Redbury

LA is chock full of famous addresses, from Melrose Place, to Beverly Hills 90210, to The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr -- oh, wait, this isn't just a list of Fox shows from the 90s? For an iconic LA address you can actually stay in, hit The Redbury. Right on the famed corner of Hollywood & Vine, The Redbury is SBE hospitality group's fifth hotel -- a boutique number styled by a well-known fashion photographer and decked with bronze mirrored walls, loads of wood paneling, and vintage art -- a much better choice, as Garfunkel's hair just looks weird nowadays. The space features 57 flats offering a "Bohemian counter-culture feel", each uniquely appointed with record collections and turntables, vintage rock posters, and walk-in rain showers, much better for impulse hygiene than those rain showers you've got to book through OpenShower. Grubwise, they've got a Mediterranean resto (Cleo's) slinging casual, not-that-expensive sustenance ranging from small plate Mezes (hummus, dolmades, etc) to raw oysters to Hanger Steak; as well in the room-grub from Katsuya Hollywood, and special amenities like grocery delivery and picnic baskets, unless of course Yogi Bear's hidden himself in your walk-in rain shower. So you've got somewhere to take those picnic baskets, they've also got a woodsified central courtyard with a teak wood floor and tons of vegetation, all of which, as of the Fall, is fully blooming in Living Color.
