Wines of Germany's Riesling Week

With summer, comes questions: Where should I take my vacation? Should I break up with my girlfriend? Should I start a relationship with tank-tops? Settle "What wine should I drink?" right now, and hit up Riesling Week, May 18-24. Birthed from feisty, greenish-yellow grapes that flourish in Germany, Alsace, and Austria's chillier growing regions, Riesling can mean sweeter wines, which many people are familiar with, but they also produce a wealth of dry, peach- and apple-tinged wines, which many don't know jack about, but damn well should. Riesling Week will showcase the wine's prowess as a light, refreshing summer quaffable, with free tastings at retailers across the city, from K&L Wine Merchants, to WINE Bar & Shop, BECAUSE WHEN IT'S IN ALL-CAPS, YOU KNOW IT'S SERIOUS. There'll also be special Riesling menus at a host of vaunted restos, including Betelnut, Jardiniere, Campton Place, and Chez TJ, where your lovely waitress will be Heather Locklear.

To navigate Riesling Week, check out this map of participating locations -- because one question you don't want to ask yourself this summer is, "where the hell am I?".
