New Dating Data Reveals Interesting Facts About Single People
In its seventh annual "Singles in America" survey, Match has drawn on the dating habits of single people to determine our generation is more depressed about dating than ever before -- and also totally addicted to dating apps.

Just kidding. But some of the stats are actually interesting. With more than 5,500 single people surveyed, this is what we discovered. First of all, 57% of millennials say they're lonely. But they're also actively trying to change that: Our generation is 125% more likely to "admit they're addicted to the process of making a love connection vs. other generations."
Of course, that process is an absolute clusterf**k. For example, almost 50% of women report that they've gotten a dick pic they never asked for. YAY FOR BEING SINGLE.
Also, 34% of singles have had sex before a first date. See, you're not the only person having sex with someone before you decide to go out with them. Always good to know what's under the hood, right?
Meanwhile, 42% of singles said they judge a date by their social media posts. You can't exactly go on a Tinder date without figuring out how many gym selfies a person has. This is just common sense.
As if we didn't already know, 39% of participants cited grammar as a big cause for judgment. Nothing sexy about a guy who doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're."
And least surprisingly, 57% of those surveyed admit that social media gives them FOMO.
Looking a little bit closer you may realize that the findings are actually things you definitely already knew. But hey, a little data-backed confirmation never hurt anybody.
It's comforting to know that pretty much everyone is having the same awkward, weird, dick pic-abundant dating experiences that you're having. Dating apps are either a revolution or the downfall of humanity. You decide.
