It's not a trick. Idris Elba, Star Trek actor and boyfriend of the Internet, wants to date you, for a price.

"I'd like you to be my Valentine," he says, pointing at the camera in a Facebook Live video while wearing a characteristically well-cut suit, sitting next to an empty chair, flowers, and two glasses of champagne. He furrows his brow and promises you the empty chair is yours, and that your Valentine's Day date together would mean a private audience, cocktails, and a fancy dinner -- with flights and hotel included.

"And once we’re feeling comfortable, we can order whatever your heart desires," he says. "Maybe some truffles, perhaps some steak. Pepper soup and Fufu. That’s an African dish, and you pound the yams. And you know what? I'll let you pound my yams."

It's all a shockingly effective play to drum up donations for W.E. Can Lead, an organization that provides education and leadership opportunities for young women in Sierra Leone and across the continent of Africa.

Donate at least $10 on the Omaze page they've set up for the good cause. That will get you one ballot entry. The more you give, the likelier you are to be picked. You can also get additional prizes (T-shirts, signed merch, etc.) if you donate more.

Good luck, killer. If you win, be sure to brush up on your Idris Elba trivia before the date. (He doesn't weight train, he fight trains, FYI, and his favorite meal ever was a "humongous" $12 burger.)

And try to keep your pants on while watching the full video below.
