Telos's latest, "super-aerobic" weapon in the battle of the bulge packs a fat-burning workout into a crazy-brief amount of time by basically sticking you on your choice of cardio machine, then having you spend 5mins warming up before busting through eight 20-second intervals of balls-out huffing/puffing (with 10 seconds rest), before cooling down for a scant two minutes. The program was designed by a Japanese "fitness scientist", though with a name like "The Tabata Protocol", you can be pretty sure "fitness scientist" means "Robert Ludlum".
