These Japanese denim kings first got going in '47, and went on to invent both stone washing and the "new-vintage" look of the '90s. Their first London store, in Shoreditch, sees tees like the WW2-nodding Pin-Up Star (a total betty riding a bomb), lumberjack-ready checked shirts, and many, many styles & cuts of hard-wearing jeans, such as a blue-quartz pair "based on oil field worker trousers from the mid '70s" named the ED-71, the ED-209 costing millions more dollars despite being impossible to climb down stairs in.
