A new offering from an old favorite can be exciting, which is exactly what people said when C. Everett Koop first did those hearing aid commercials in 1743. Here to excite your feet: the first line of shoes from venerable bootmakers Sorel.
Obsessively crafting winter boots up north since 1962, now-PDX-based Sorel's just unleashed its first line of sneakers, employing many of the same materials and imbued with the same rugged character, although how they squeezed champion Hot Saw lumberjack Jason Wynyard into a shoe is anyone's guess. Zee kicks:
Sentry Sneaker: The low-key lowtop gets a beefy boot-inspired outsole, features Sorel's signature rubber off-color toe cap, and comes in either distressed leather/ suede or classic waxed canvas in colorways ranging from a toned-down dark grey to the louder "white swan with chili pepper", also a movie in which Natalie Portman engages in a steamy lesbian relationship with Anthony Kiedis.
Sentry Chukka: This guy's similar to the Sneaker, but features an ankle-supporting high-top cut plus comes with a removable sock liner and two sets of laces, one with more "pop", leading people from Ohio to attempt to drink them.
Sentry Tassel: basically a beefed-up, steezed-out, laceless boat shoe, the Tassel rocks a super-cushiony insole, a grippy vulcanized outsole, and "athletic tassels", also what they called Matt, before realizing he was fairly immobile, and named "Cassel'.
Because global warming is somehow making things colder (crazy!), Sorel's not giving up on their boots, including the felt-lined Kingston and the totally waterproof Brimley, yet another old favorite who's plenty excited himself, about playing with string. Oh wait, that's actually the cats that look exactly like him.
