The Only Two Things You Need To Know About Video Games This Week
Fact: Assassin's Creed is going to France. Double fact: Batman: Arkham Knight has a brand new villain.
What are you waiting for? Check out the trailer for AC: Unity and some mysterious pics from Batman below.
Assassin's Creed: Unity Heads To France
Anyone who played Assassin's Creed: Black Flag with a careful eye knows that the game revealed some secrets about the setting for potential future games. Obviously it would be a departure from the pirate-infested waters of the Caribbean, but what was next on the docket? Well, after Kotaku leaked some screenshots, Ubisoft released the teasiest of teaser trailers to confirm the news: AC is heading to France during the French Revolution.
Assasin's Creed: Unity is one of two games allegedly coming in 4th Q 2014, although one game is most likely going to be a stripped down version for handheld devices. With a Les Miserables era AC, does that mean Jean Valjean the new assassin? Probably not. Will you be forced to kill Marie Antoinette? Uh, maybe? Will Napoleon be featured? Almost assuredly. Will you kill Robespierre with a spear? One can only hope.
Batman: Arkham Knight
Meanwhile, Batman: Arkham Knight is heading for an October 2014 release, which means you will be one busy gamer come Thanksgiving. Warner Bros. Interactive released some sexy new screenshots of the game, which reveal juuuust a tad of information — including a new, as yet unknown character.
From a demo shown to certain sites, this new character tackles Batman and then points a gun to his head. We hear a shot, and the screen goes black. Looks a bit like Azreal, no?
With the added announcement that players will be able to control the Batmobile, this could be the most comprehensive Batman experience yet.
Evan Scott Schwartz is the Tech editor for Supercompressor. He hopes the new Batman villain is Hush.
