Drone technology being what it is, it was just a matter of time until someone made a ball that could float. Rekimoto Lab proposes blending a ball with a quadcopter, which would enable the user to preprogram the device or remotely control it into specific patterns of movement. Imagine a flying ball dodging and weaving around as if it were the fabled golden snitch from Potter world. The HoverBall isn't available quite yet, but don't let that stop you from planning out a March Madness quidditch bracket for when it does land.
