Scientists reached this conclusion following an assessment of a nearby universe, which showed that the energy output of 200,000 galaxies was producing only half the amount of energy it was producing two billion years ago.
Part of the Galaxy and Mass Assembly (GAMA) project (the largest multi-wavelength survey ever organized), the study was an international effort that drew support from NASA's GALEX and WISE orbiting telescopes and the European Space Agency's Herschel telescope.
It's not breaking news that the universe is fading into oblivion, but this study confirms that it's happening across all wavelengths, from the ultraviolet to the infrared. In other words, EVERYTHING IS DYING SO ENJOY LIFE WHILE YOU CAN.
