They say you can't really get perspective on something without seeing it from multiple angles, which explains why From A Distance, Bette Midler doesn't look exactly like a foot. See the wilderness from above and below, at Wildwater's Pigeon River Adventure Center.
Tucked away in Tennessee's Smoky Mountains, the Adventure Center's just begun offering one neat package combining its two brand-new tours -- a 4x4 excursion through the forest and a zipline canopy jaunt above it -- while keeping the accommodations rustic at the nearby Hickory Mist Luxury Cabins or Cabin Fever Vacations, a Shining example of why you should really only visit during the spring. The first leg of the adventure traverses Cocke County's old moonshine expressways across the "rugged and raw" mountains (rambling past the majestic French Broad River and cascading waterfalls of the actual Rocky Top), all of which you'll take in from the elevated, five-seat back bench of their new customized Jeep CJ7s, which are basically bigger Wranglers, presumably on loan from Brett Favre, as that text pic shows he has little interest in them. Part two is the aforementioned ziplining, getting you airborne via their newly extended Waterfall Gorge Canopy Tour, which crisscrosses 15ac at heights of 70-120ft and boasts four sky bridges & 12 zipline sections, highlighted by a rock face rappel ending in a final, 1200ft zip across Pigeon River, presumably so named because everyone's super-concerned about dropping.
If seeing nature by land and air isn't enough, they also offer five miles of fast-paced whitewater runs through Class III and IV rapids with names like "Roller Coaster", "Chubbie Checker", and "Powerhouse", a name that could also be applied to you, provided you're being watched from a (great) distance.
