The only thing worse than flying with these people at high altitude is having to deal with the rude flight attendant who clobbers your knee with the beverage cart or confiscates your DIY cocktail stash at 30,000 feet. Thankfully, so fliers can avoid the worst service, Airfarewatchdog surveyed 3,400 passengers on 14 domestic carriers to determine the U.S. airline with the rudest cabin crews.

To little surprise, the poll found Spirit Airlines to be dead last in service. Travelers said Spirit's flight attendants were anything but spirited, with 26 percent of respondents voting its crews as the crankiest. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines tied at the top spot, each receiving just 1 percent of votes.

Winning (or perhaps losing) 14 percent of the vote, Air Canada's crews ranked second-worst, while AirTran, Delta, Hawaiian and JetBlue, all of which garnered 3 percent of votes, ranked as being much more amiable. Middling airlines include Virgin America, which got 9 percent of the impolite vote, Allegiant at 8 percent, and United and U.S. Airways both scoring 7 percent each.
