This plane is surely overcompensating for something.
It's not often you see a passenger jet doing aerial tricks (and with good reason -- please, let's avoid that while we're on board!), but Boeing just released a video of a 787 Dreamliner being tested, and its takeoff is pretty incredible.
The test of the newest version of the jet (the 787-9) was done in preparation for the Paris Air Show, taking place next week, CNN reports. We're going to go ahead and say they're well prepared. Watch as the lightweight aircraft, which first debuted in 2011, climbs high and then take off nearly perpendicular to the ground. A pilot for Boeing told CNN, "Some of what you're seeing on takeoff is a trick of perspective... It looks like the takeoff is at a near vertical 90 degree angle — trust me it's not."
We're not convinced. Also, we're never flying again.
