The Most Expensive Airbnb in Every State

Courtesy of Airbnb

Airbnb has become popular for providing budget-friendly accommodations that make any city feel like home. But, what if you want home to be a freakin' mansion? Or right next to the Alabama football stadium? Well, you're in luck -- Airbnb is also loaded with tons of outrageous rentals, both luxurious properties with insane amenities, and "cozy" ordinary homes that've been grossly overpriced to fleece folks in town for special events.

It got us thinking, what are the most expensive properties on Airbnb? And how do prices compare between states? To find out, we asked our data team to use their wizard powers and/or write a simple script that would search Airbnb for the most expensive listing in every state. And lo and behold, they did it. Like, in no time at all.

Here's what they came up with: the rates are per night, organized from least to most expensive, and (before you jump to the comments section) guaranteed accurate only at the time of publication (April 16, 2015).
