This is what a $50 million Ferrari train looks like

There are sexy houseboats, palatial RVs, and luxe, moveable cabins – but a mansion on rails? Well, that's a thing now in Japan.

Always on the cutting edge of everything, the Land of the Rising Sun is now spearheading the train of the future. A modern spin on old-school travel, the JR East Cruise Train is set to launch in 2017, and, as can only be expected of the work from a designer who dreamt up Ferraris, Porsches and Maseratis, the train is decadent, exclusive, and expensive.

It’ll also cost around $50 million to build.

The fancy sleeper train will take no more than 34 lucky guests in its 10 cars -- two of which include super futuristic, glass-walled observation decks. One will be at the very front of the train, allowing for unspoiled views, with the other at the very end.

The train's main attraction is its deluxe suite as well as its five private, double-decker suites that sleep four, and include a bedroom, private bathroom, and even a Japanese-style dining and lounge area.

Apparently, this fancy lounge is inspired by trees, and will be outfitted with furniture as rigid and minimal as traditional Japanese culture.

Jokes!

Are you really surprised it's gold? It's a $50 million train. It's not like they'd make it grey.

You'll have to wait until 2017 to board this baby, but for more Okuyama eye candy, click here.
