Sure, everybody assumes that airport baggage handlers abuse the luggage. But until you see it live, you're probably willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Yeah, you can stop doing that now.
Despite working in full public view, some ground handlers at Italy's Bergamo Airport were caught lobbing luggage onto a Ryanair plane earlier this month. Less-than-riveting video footage shot by a passenger (who probably wished he hadn't checked his collection of porcelain ballerina figurines) shows one man carelessly flinging bags to another, who then lackadaisically loads them onto the hold.
Airport management apologized for the employees' lack of effort, and Ryanair asked that the mishandlers be removed from loading future Ryanair flights.
