Kayaking is way cooler when you're riding on top of a whale

The closest most people ever get to a whale involves Sea World and a clearly denoted splash radius.

But for two lucky kayakers in Argentina, an up-close-and-personal encounter scored them a ride atop the great waterborne mammal after it lifted their boat off the water -- twice.

In a moment that puts the Dirty Dancing river scene to shame, the kayaking pair recorded their encounter and uploaded the video to YouTube, with a description (translated to English) that reads: “An incredible evening, lots of sun, kayaking and whale watching. As we watched from the top of the kayak, one of the whales turned and came towards our direction and we lifted the boat twice!”

Seems they indeed had the time of their lives.

Marvel at the amazing sea creature from an over- and underwater perspective in the video below... and just try not to hold your breath.
