These 3D sand drawings will play tricks on your eyes

And you thought your annual Rockaway Beach sand castle was gonna blow up Instagram.

Art collective 3DSD has just taken sand-sculpting to the next level with their collection of remarkable three-dimensional sand drawings on northern New Zealand's Mount Maunganui Beach. The team -- made up of artists Costanza Tagini Nightingale, Jamie Harkins, and David Rendu -- recreated structures both familiar and abstract (from the Pantheon and pyramids, to winding staircases and a toaster) that beg beach-goers to interact with them.
