The sport of bull surfing exists in India and it's insane
Looking for something radical to do in India when you're not collecting super neat vintage matchbooks? Then you've gotta head to the southern farming villages of Kerala, where every August during Maramandi (a festival celebrating the end of the harvest), cats flood an enormous rice paddy, sling wooden yokes over a pair of angry bulls, grab a tow rope, and GO BULL SURFING. It's as epic as you might imagine, so check this video (wherein a couple Irish dudes give it a shot) and then ogle some action shots of past races.
