There’s something about the energy -- not to mention the cheap beer -- in college towns that make them appealing places to live, even if you've been out of school for ages. But in which college town would a grown-up with no university affiliation want to settle down?

That's pretty much the question Livability.com's been answering since 2009, when they started ranking the country's top college towns by factors like housing affordability, cultural amenities, entertainment and recreation options, and other key data that do notinclude the attractiveness of the sorority population. To spice things up this year, though, they’ve added a football-flavored spin, sorting cities according to their grouping in the Football Bowl Subdivision and picking out the best burg in each group.
