Chef Sang Yoon is the brains behind this nationally-acclaimed Los Angeles gastropub. Father's Office is especially famous for its Office Burger: a 100% chuck, dry-aged beef patty topped with blue cheese, arugula, and onion jam, and served on a toasted oval bun with garlic butter. Chef Yoon has a strict no modifications allowed policy on his burger, so either you like it or you don't -- but chances are you probably will.
You may think this is a legacy pick, but in fact you’re telling on yourself—go back and try it again. Chef Sang Yoon’s legendary creation helped kick off the fancy bar burger wave (and the No Substitutions wave), and to this day the thick and juicy patty with caramelized onion jam, bacon, blue cheese, and arugula on a crusty French roll is undeniably good as hell. Now if only we didn’t have to sneak ketchup in like booze to the Rose Bowl.
This larger, 21+ location of chef Sang Yoon’s game-changing Santa Monica gastropub has one of LA’s best craft beer programs, along with one of LA’s best burgers. The only argument against this dry-aged beef patty, topped with blue cheese, arugula, and onion jam (with no substitutions), is that it's actually closer to a sandwich than a burger—in which case, it's the best burger and the best sandwich in Culver City. If you can manage to look past the allure of The Office Burger, you’ll find a menu full of other well-executed delights like Chorizo Fritters, Grilled Octopus Salad, and Roasted Bone Marrow.
