Highland Tap Steak Cellar is just what you’d expect from the name: a subterranean steakhouse in Virginia-Highland. Its stone walls, and the fact that it’s underground, lend a speakeasy vibe to the 80s-born restaurant. Open every day at 11am -- except Mondays when it opens at 4pm, because it’s Monday -- Highland Tap offers brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks (order a martini, you’re at a steakhouse). Specializing, obviously, in wood-fired steaks, prime ribs, and other cuts, the menu offers a variety of meatless, classic steakhouse items, like crabcakes, wedge salads, grilled fish, au gratin potatoes, and the like.
