Opening today from a brothers-in-law team with backgrounds in construction and chef-struction, respectively, MG's a narrow, homey cafe with deep red tablecloths and light tangerine walls outfitted with assorted shiny Ali Baba-esque Middle Eastern knicknackery ... how bazaar! For starters they're doing many of the usual suspects (hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel) along with borak (think Mediterranean egg rolls), and laham ajeen, a pita/tomato/herb/ground beef construct that vaguely resembles a pizza. Heartier mains include beef/lamb/chicken in either shawarma or kabob form, a charbroiled cornish game hen, and a breaded ground potato cake (stuffed with beef, onion, and spices) they call a potato chop. They're keeping things BYOB for the foreseeable future, and they're offering half-price on the entire menu.
