When one thinks of restaurants under metropolitan freeways, cocktails and riverside views don't automatically come to mind. Yet at South Street Seaport's Industry Kitchen, that's just what you'll get. A sign of increased development far Downtown, this industrial-modern space has outdoor seating and an enormous glass window facing the East River. The casual American menu features proteins like cedar-plank salmon and roast chicken, but the real draw is the contemporary pizzas. The pies are cooked in wood-burning ovens and topped with non-traditional ingredients like smoked salmon and capers, and chocolate with marshmallows.
