Tucked away under the freeway in an old-timey storefront, Lowell's an odd combination of vintage housewares store (ceramic tiger S&P shakers!) and lunch joint offering a menu with rotating, eclectic delights like roasted pork shoulder congee w/ fried egg & kimchi, ice cream by Lovely's Fifty Fifty, and beer from Captured by Porches, who presumably use the old "sticks and leaves over the really deep hole" trick. Or maybe the "spring-loaded rope around the ankle" move. Damn, those porches are cunning.
