Venue Info

Aiming to help working musicians as well as ones who just can't get themselves to work, The Austin Music Foundation just launched a city-funded resource center helmed by the drummer from Vallejo that offers free computer workstations loaded with software for mixing/mastering (Pro Tools), designing album art (Photoshop), and creating web/social media presences (Dreamweaver). They also make available industry vets who'll counsel on best practices for touring, and booking shows -- e.g., "No matter what that a**hole de la Rocha says, don't ask your fans to read Walter L. Adamson's Hegemony and Revolution: A study of Antonio Gramsci's Political & Cultural Theory".
