Given that it’s home to the godfather of beer brewing, St. Louis has no shortage of microbreweries. Among the masses is Earthbound, whose owners have found their niche in a 1,000sqft space on Cherokee Street. With a penchant for using unique ingredients (oak leaves, sumac, and chipotle peppers), and a variety of herbs and spices during the brewing process, the beers here are “weird” (their words, not ours). Earthbound's experimental offerings include a pumpkin beer brewed with beets, Winter Warm Double IPA sweetened with jaggery, and Thai Basil IPA, but they manage to balance the weird with the straightforward for the less adventurous drinkers. Clydesdales not included.
